Humbuckers vintage output

My Standard range classic alnico 4 PAF style offering: sweet and singing without the neck pickup being too plummy.

A great match for a classic ‘single cut’ sLP or a semi acoustic.

Neck 7.5k, bridge 8.4k (average).

FORCES SWEETHEART Alnico IV

Another flavour of ‘PAF’ stule pickup based on the golden age of humbuckers.  the Blitz Spirit is smooth and open sounding,  deep and plummy with big, fat mids in the neck position, and woody with a dirty edge in the bridge. Made with Nickel silver base-plates, hard wood spacers, and un-matched asymmetrical coils, the Blitz Spirit takes the ‘Patent Applied For’ idea into the new millennium. A wonderful blues/rock or classic rock pickup with fat, singing mids’

7.6 neck 8.4 bridge (average)

BLITZ SPIRIT Alnico II

The Scrapyard Dog is a vintage output, asymmetrically wound pickup with a four conductor output. With alnico 5 magnets, it offers a little more bite than a standard PAF design.

Singing sustain with a crisp raw edge is the order of the day

Neck 7.6k, bridge 8.5k (average)

SCRAPYARD DOG Alnico V

Bean-0

Inspired by late 50s pickups that set the British blues rock world alight in the mid to late 60s.

Electric Blues that "burst" out the Thames Delta (South London) rather than the Mississippi delta.

Yes - it's a classic late 50s PAF and does all that you'd expect of it.

42 gauge plain enamel wire. Rough cast alnico 4 magnets. Slight over-wind.

New specs for 2016 include: butyrate bobbins, maple spacers. Roughcast magnets and a choice of either Potted or un-potted options available

7.6k neck , 8k bridge (average)

TubeSnake

The Tubesnake lets you boogie all the way from Texas to the Snakepits of Los Angeles.

So whether you favour a ten gallon hat or a tophat this pickup will provide the sizzle.

On a serious note it's a slightly fat and aggressive PAF with an alnico2 magnet for sweet highs and a buttery low end.

The bridge unit can rock out whilst the neck pickup really sings.

42 gauge US vintage spec plain enamel wire alnico 2 magnets

7.9 neck 8.5 bridge (average)

Dynamite

Inspired by mid 60s T Top humbuckers.

Pure TNT in the hands of certain Young players, creating Thunder from down under.

Really it's the sound of the late 60s and early 70s

42gauge wire short 60’s style alnico 5 magnets. Butyrate bobbins.

 Neck 7.6k, bridge 8.2k  (average)

Light relic ‘modern’ cover option

Riot Act

Inspired by a certain classic 60s/70s British rock band and their Les Paul wielding guitarist, for whom we, at Oil City have a whole lot of love … and respect.

A beefy and snarling yet classic voiced pickup that takes the ‘PAF’ concept and boosts it slightly without losing the clarity. Punchy bass, growling mids and a smooth clear top end characterise the tones available here.

Perfect for classic rock or heavier blues … this versatile pickup will happily ‘metal it up’ too.

7.8k neck 9.8k Bridge, (average)

Airship Trooper Alnico V

PAT- 63

Light relic ‘modern’ cover option

Inspired by some of the PAF style pickups from the mid 70s where Alnico 3 was used

(Alnico3 has no cobalt in it and cobalt was scarce in the mid-70s as it was used in nuclear warheads)

Smooth top end and able to be very clean , but dirties up well with pedals or amp gain.

Great as a jazz/blues neck pickup or for those who want to ride the Crazy Train (Randy Rhoads' White LP had this spec of pickups in it)

7,6 neck 7.9 bridge (average)

The PAT-63 was developed after we rewound a particularly nice set of early ‘transition’ Gibson humbuckers. These shared most of the features of the classic 59 breed, but with some of the features that would lead on into the ‘T-Top’ model.

Butyrate 59 style bobbins, maple spacers, rough cast magnets and vintage spec PVA coated plain enamel wire give a 50s smoothness and vibe, but the alnico 5 magnets give more edgy rock tones when your amp is pushed hard.

Neck 7,6k bridge 7.9k  (average)
